What’s new this year……

A NEW WAY TO WALK! For the past several years, our wooden walkway has been deteriorating with splinters and uneven boards. Thanks to our contractor volunteer Mike Z, the TREX corporation donated hundreds of feet of TREX engineered materials, enough to replace nearly 200 feet of walkway. TREX also donated plenty of Hideaway fasteners so that no screws are showing. The result is a safe and attractive walkway which will last for many, many years. THANKS to the fine people at TREX!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROUTE 66! After celebrating our 199th anniversary, it’s time for another celebration! We are happy to participate in the celebration for the 100th anniversary of ‘The Mother Road’! AS you walk through our layout, keep an eye out for billboards that give a nod to the party!

ANOTHER WAY TO PLAY Our regular visitors are familiar with our 2 ‘interactive’ areas where visitors can operate the trains. When the theme for this years fair was announced, we decided to add a new area for guests to ‘Play Your Way’. In place of our 100th anniversary birthday cake, we have constructed a miniature Lionel train layout, similiar to one that a retailer would have in a store window during the holidays in the 1950s and 60s. Visitors and press buttons to hear sounds and activate accessories while watching the trains circle the layout. Don’t miss this new addition, located near our Entrance.
