During these past few months, our crew has been hard at work on our Trex walkway! Here is what we have been up to:
All underground utilities had to be upgraded.
A clean area, ready for the support structure.
A grid of pressure-treated 2 x 6s will rest on concrete footings.
The 20 foot decking pieces were cut to length and installed using the TREX® Hideaway® hidden fastener system. These fasteners securely fasten the workpiece while being invisible to the user- no crew heads are visible for a clean loook!
Progress continues!
With the East side finished, work continues on the front side.
The North walkway is finished with a custom milled trim border.
This project has been our main point of focus during this past year. With the generous donation of the TREX® materials, our old , uneven and rough boardwalk has been transformed into a safe passage for our 60,000 plus visitors during the annual LA County Fair. With the durability of the Trex® decking, our walkway will be a safe and durable path for visitors for years to come.
